-I want you to imagine you’re in your room, the window is open and the wind is blowing, so that the room is soaked through by an air stream. You’re trying to light a scented stick, but once you take the flame away from it, it burns a little and it dies. Now I want you to open your eyes and tell me why is it that the stick keeps dying.

-It’s very simple, because of the wind and because the flame is too small.

-You’re right. Now please close your eyes again and imagine an oak forest with a tree burning right in the middle of it. And when it burns in full swing the wind starts blowing really hard. Now, tell me please, do you think the fire is going to be put out? asked the lady butterfly.

-Definitely not, the wind will do nothing but spread the fire.

-All right, and if the wind changes direction, will it put out the fire?

-No, on the contrary, it will spread it to the surroundings, and the entire forest may catch on the fire.

-The flame of the scented stick is you, and the wind doesn’t have to concern you. If your flame becomes that of an oak, then stronger the wind, the greater you’ll become.”

Noipap Chapter 11 The Third Part

-Yes, but it’s so difficult in this stone tree. I can’t stand these worms that keep relentlessly complaining. No matter how positive I am, they manage to shut my thoughts down, the worm sadly explained.

-Papion, I want to tell you two things: The first is that you cannot blame others, because you are the master of your thoughts! The sooner you realize it, the better you will be in this life. You are the creator of your own thoughts, but you need to create them consciously! There is an old recipe that Buddha left behind, for a pure mind. If you follow it, it will help you become the master of your mind and instead of letting yourself be driven by thoughts, you will be the one to lead yourself to anything you want! In order to work, this recipe needs to become a constant exercise, and for that, you’ll need to make a significant effort at the beginning! But don’t worry: Once you’ve learned it, this new way of thinking will become natural and even enjoyable.

-And what is this recipe?

-It’s made up of four steps:

“Allow positive thoughts to enter your mind ”

“ Don’t allow negative thoughts to enter your mind ”

“ Delete the negative thoughts that already exist in your mind”

“Feed the positive thoughts that already exist in your mind”

-Airam, I’m sorry, that’s right, but it seems easy to say but so hard to accomplish. How can I put it into practice? How do I block the negative thoughts? Papion asked.

-Gratitude is the key to this exercise! I think so. When your mind is overrun by negative thoughts, you have to think of something for which you’re grateful. We all have reasons to be thankful in this world, we just don’t consider them enough. When negative thoughts start showing up, remember something that you’re happy about and say: Thank you! In that precise moment your mind becomes a shield against the dark thoughts, and the same gratitude, if it comes from your heart, will erase the negative thoughts that are already in your mind. Please note that if a negative thought attracts a similar thought, the same principle applies to the positive thoughts! The dark thoughts will return, but now you’ll be protected by this shield called Gratitude, and all you have to do is to use it, Airam said.

-Do you really believe that?

-Yes, it works for me. In my opinion, gratitude is the way, at least I think so, and if I change my mind, I will not believe I am wrong now, but that I’ve grown. I am grateful to God for the little wisdom that is in my mind, and I pray every day to be able to grow, to restrain my pride, and to learn something from every being I meet. I really believe that everyone has a hidden message for us. All you need is to find it.

-Don’t you think too much?

-You can’t think too much, you can only think productively or destructively, depending on what you choose. As for the wickedness you see in others, I want to tell you a short story in Japanese folklore, that is called “The House of a Thousand Mirrors.” And so Airam began to tell the story:
